Cervicothoracic Scoliosis

Patient Profile

Age: 10
Condition:  Juvenile Idiopathic Scoliosis
Symptoms:  None
Goal: Correct and stabilize scoliosis

The Challenge

This is a very challenging case as there is a severe cervicothoracic curve that is 50 degrees  which is extremely challenging to stabilize.  She has an S-curve scoliosis with a cervicothoracic curve and a thoracolumbar curve.  She falls within the surgical threshold.

The Solution: Total Scoliosis Solution (TSS) Program

She enrolled in our TSS Program, where we designed a personalized treatment plan focused on:

Scoliosis correction and stabilization

Scoliosis-specific exercises and home rehab program

Targeted exercises and strategies to minimize the risk factors of scoliosis progression

Follow up care and management of her scoliosis until she reaches full skeletal maturation

The Results

The patient responded very well to the treatment and there was a net curve reduction of 44%.  She has also fallen below the threshold of scoliosis surgery.  With her home rehab program and compliance, she should be able to self-manage her scoliosis for life.
