Scoliosis and Pain Reduction at 37

Patient Profile

Age: 37
Condition: Scoliosis
Symptoms:  Severe scoliosis, debilitating neck pain and migraines, and mid back and hip pain
Goal: Scoliosis correction and stabilization and improve symptoms

The Challenge

At 16 she was told that surgery was an option but she opted not to have surgery.  Over the years her pain worsened and she tried osteopathy, chiropractic, acupuncture, and nerve block, which was helpful in the past but not effective anymore.  It was debilitating and she would be out of commission for a few days when it triggered.  It affected her quality of life and her ability to focus on her graduate studies.

The Solution: Total Scoliosis Solution (TSS) Program

She enrolled in our TSS Program, where we designed a personalized treatment plan focused on:

Postural realignment to correct asymmetrical loads on the spine and minimize risk factors of scoliosis progression

Strength and stability training as well as remodeling the soft tissues

Targeted exercises to enhance flexibility and reduce pain

Scoliosis-specific exercises and techniques to help correct and stabilize scoliosis

The Results

After following our TSS Program, she experienced significant improvement in her alignment and balance.  Her symptoms have also improved markedly and she was much more functional.  Follow-up x-rays half a year later showed a net curve reduction of 20% and marked improvement in alignment.  Her scoliosis reduced below surgical threshold and the risk factors of progression has also been minimized.  The results once again proves that it’s never too late to take charge of your health.
