Scoliosis Correction 12 Year Old

Patient Profile

Age: 12
Condition:  Juvenile Idiopathic Scoliosis
Symptoms:  None
Goal:  Scoliosis correction and stabilization

The Challenge

The patient was 12 when she started the TSS Program, but her scoliosis was first detected two years earlier.  There is a family history of scoliosis.   She has a significant truncal shift  and pelvic obliquity with marked rotation.  Due to unfinished growth there is a high risk of progression.

The Solution: Total Scoliosis Solution (TSS) Program

She enrolled in our TSS Program, where we designed a personalized treatment plan focused on:

Postural realignment and re-balancing in all three planes

Scoliosis-specific exercise exercises and targeted muscle activation

Strategies to decrease nerve tension and minimize risk factors of scoliosis progression

Creating a home rehab program to self-manage scoliosis for life

The Results

After the completion of her initial program, and ongoing maintenance care during growth, there has been a significant improvement.  There has been a 48% curve reduction, improvement in her pelvic obliquity, and marked improvement in her alignment.   These positive changes will minimize the risk of progression throughout her teen and adult years, and her home program will also keep her scoliosis stable.
